Mentoring

What is Mentoring?

Mentoring is a relational exchange between an experienced individual, known as a mentor, and a less experienced individual, referred to as a mentee. The primary goal of mentoring is to help the mentee gain the skills, confidence, and knowledge necessary to advance personally and professionally.

Unlike coaching, which often focuses on specific goals in a shorter, more structured period, mentoring involves long-term development where the mentor provides support, guidance, and sharing of experiences over a longer duration. This process benefits from the mentor's accumulated wisdom and insights into particular areas of expertise or life in general.

What can you gain from mentoring?

As a mentor with extensive experience in Scrum and Agile, I am pleased to help people like you in advancing their careers and acquiring new skills. In my work, I use a practical approach and tailor each session to individual needs.

By working with me, you will gain:

  • Confidence and competence. With my assistance, you will build the necessary confidence to effectively perform roles such as Scrum Master or Agile Coach. My mentees often notice a significant improvement in their abilities, which translates into their professional success.

  • Practical knowledge and tools. Our meetings are not just about theory, but primarily a discussion about practical tools, techniques, and frameworks such as Kanban or Scrum, which you can immediately implement in your work. I will also help you understand more complex concepts such as flow or empathetic communication, which are crucial for effective Agile team management.

  • Individual approach. I treat each of my mentees as a unique individual, which is why our sessions are perfectly tailored to your personal needs, challenges, and goals. My flexible working methods are highly rated by those I work with.

  • Support in the certification process. If you are aiming to obtain Scrum certifications, such as Professional Scrum Master, I am here to help you. Together, we will develop a strategy that will increase your chances of achieving near-perfect results.

  • Development of soft skills. I place great emphasis on the development of soft skills, such as communication, stress management, and relationship building. I believe they are essential for effective performance in an Agile environment, and I am eager to help you develop them.

My mentoring is for you if...

  • If you want to transition into a role as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach. My extensive experience in helping people change careers is your advantage. Together we will create a plan that will help you achieve this goal.

  • If you feel the need to strengthen your confidence and competence. If your skills need a solid foundation and your confidence needs support, we will work on this together.

  • If you are preparing for certification. I will help you prepare for exams such as PSM, so you can successfully obtain the certifications you desire.

  • If you are looking for inspiration and practical solutions for everyday challenges at work. I share my experiences, inspire, and offer concrete tools and strategies that you can immediately implement in your work.

  • If you work in an Agile team and want to improve your skills. Regardless of your experience level, my mentoring will help you further develop and refine the skills necessary for effective performance in an Agile team.

In my mentoring, you can count on professional support that will not only help you achieve your goals but also inspire you to further development and action.

How long does one meeting last?

One meeting lasts from 1h to 1.5h. It depends on the mutual availability of schedules and the needs of the Mentee. We set all this up during the first contracting session.

How long does a mentoring cycle last?

Mentoring meetings last as long as it takes to achieve the Mentee's goal or until a decision is made to end earlier. From my practice, we usually meet from 4 to 6 times.

How often do we meet?

Meetings can be both online and in person. We meet every 2-3 weeks to allow time for homework and self-reflection.

How do we settle accounts?

We usually settle after each session. This element is also established during the first contracting session.

What if the "chemistry" didn’t work out and I want to end the meetings?

That happens :) Just let me know, and I may be able to offer another form of support.

What do I need to “start” with?

Before starting, you should have a clear goal in mind for the mentoring. We'll discuss this goal together to ensure it's well-defined, and then we'll choose the right metrics to measure your progress. You should also be prepared to put in significant effort between our meetings, which will include completing any assigned homework.
